There was a topic on here earlier, yes I did a search, but it was closed due to talking of "illegal activities." It was definitely a good point because that topic also included PRESCRIPTION MEDICATIONS like adderall and ritalin...

I am not talking about prescription medications here. Whether or not they were actually prescribed to you or you got them from someone else... I am not at all concerned with drugs that need to be prescribed.

But with piracetam, literally everything I have read on the internet about it has been good. I am really curious. Would it be bad for me to email my psychiatry professor about it?

Cannot find it in Epocrates. Therefore it does not exist. Joe.

Isn't that just for prescription drugs? Regardless Internet big shot that has nothing to do with my question

By "everything you've read on the internet", do you mean random brosephs on some body-building forum, or actual scientific literature? As you're obviously interested in this topic, it wouldn't be a bad exercise for you to hone your research skills on. There have been multiple published studies on piracetam in both animals and human, exploring a variety of possible effects. Why don't you look those up and see what you can figure out?

If you're looking for an actual "smart drug", though, I think you'd be hard pressed to do better than good old-fashioned coffee.

I've been taking NZT for about four months now. I'm number one in my class, just published 15 articles in NEJM because I felt like it, and was made an honorary member of the board of trustees.....I don't remember my girlfriend breaking up with me three weeks ago but that's ok.

I recommend this post (lots of publications can be found listed there).

I also recommend this FAQ to get started.

Keep in mind that piracetam is not a stimulant and its effects are subtle and sometimes noticed after 1 or maybe more weeks of supplementation.

ummm i know there is a ton of scientific literature and i haven't found a single one that says anything bad about it

other than don't take it if you have certain preexisting medical conditions

oh and the headaches you might get due to not enough acetylcholine, but choline supplements easily solves this problem

I have also experimented with nootropics (piracetam included), however I've laid off them because it is very hard to understand what they are doing. If there were MDs willing to talk about how to use nootropics safely and effectively, then I'd be willing to try them out, however I don't feel safe experimenting with them on my own without any professional guidance. Random online forums (longecity, bluelight) don't cut it for me.

As of now, I'm just using caffeine and b-vitamins.

yeah thats the only reason i made this topic

way too much positive evidence about piracetam on the internet, but i really want to just talk to a doctor about it and see whats up

If you think it might help, go ahead and try. Worst case scenario, placebos are effective too.
