non-July start dates for PGY-1 positions?
I know nothing and would be glad for any insight. 🙂
okay, check that... I know how to look on Freida and find out which programs have multiple start dates. But that's it. Why do these programs start in different months? How does getting into one of these positions compare, in terms of competitiveness, with traditional matching in July PGY-1 slots? What's the application process like? Does starting at a different time than most interns carry negative connotations (i.e. perhaps the belief, whether true or not, that the January starter had to make up academic work before officially graduating?)
FYI I'm considering graduating in June with my class but postponing starting internship for six months. Thoughts?
