hey, i was wondering if anyone matched yesterday as a non-resident. I interviewed at UTMB and A&M and wondered if they gave a few spots out during match or if most non-residents get offers closer to may. Congrats to everyone who did match.   👍 👍 🙂

Yo~! I'm also from Cali but I interviewed @ Texas Tech and UTMB. I ranked Tech 1st and somehow was able to match there... 🙄 I'm also wondering how other non-residents did since we're the super-minority in Texas.

you guys talkin bout match like residency?, shouldnt this be in the allopathic forum?

no dude, texas has their own system of med school application. they match at schools.

Admittance to Texas medical schools (except Baylor) is done through a match system similar to that for the national residency match. Each applicant can only gain admittance to one school on 1 Feb (a match) according to how their preferences compare with what schools admitted them.

I was able to scorea spot at UTSW as a non-resident. (I don't even have citizenship. I am a Canadian)

yeah, i matched at UTSW and I'm a california resident.

I matched to UT-Houston and I'm from Nevada. But I did my undergrad in Texas.

Much hate to those non-residents who managed to match at UTSW 😡

Kidding of course!

Last year I matched at UTHSCSA from Massachusetts and then deferred for one year so I will be starting with the Class of 2009.
