Dont worry...I have heard stories where they can call to ACCEPT you the week before classes starting. Although not extremely likely, it is possible, and a lot of schools write something to that extent in their "last admission" date (ie deadline to accept a student). I am in the same boat. My GPA is a bit higher but my scores are lower. Some good advice that I am going to take is to take more classes, (in my case) lock myself in the nearest room/library and study like hell to retake the DAT, apply June 1st, get some new letters of recommendation (namely those from newest classes or profs whom I know well), volunteer in a hospital or dental school, look into some research programs, and anything else I can do to try to stand out from the crowd of "perfect applicants" (ie 3.6/22/22). Trust me the last 2 weeks I have been stressing out/worrying because the time has come where they are handing out acceptances....this process sucks....but they say once you are in you appreciate the hard work you put in. The best advice I have heard is to not give up. This is just a roadblock. Lastly, try to put yourself in the shoes of all of the D schools, they want the ones who are going to do succeed in their dental school and perform well on their boards, and do not necessarily want the ones who (most likely) have better social skills and are "friendlier dentists" that can relate to their patients. Oh and also, its February, we still have about 6 months until panic mode. Good luck
