Anyone on Scholarship??

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
to add to the op question, does anyone know specifically if michigan schools offer scholarships and if so what are they?

There are a number of scholarshops that are offered through our school, individual people, and the North Carolina Dental Society (thank you to all of them 🙂 🙂 🙂 ). The requirements vary depending on the scholarship, but they look at grades, extracurricular, and practice intentions after graduation, as well as financial need.

Tufts awarded a $5000 and then if you were in the top 10 of the class in the upcoming years i think it was $10,000 per year. Penn also has a Deans' Scholarship.

So... Are you guys saying that none of you received free money (that you don't have to pay back) from school? I got $6160 from Columbia as General Scholarship and I didn't do anything. Did I get the money because I have a serious financial situation? 😕

Oh... I know that NYU has an excellent scholarship program for minority students. You don't need to apply. They will give it to you (half the amount of tuition) as long as you keep certain GPA.

no, columbia offers a few scholarships per yr...but for some reason they don't really advertise it...(i only know cause i know some of my classmates have it), people that are on financial need get a [small] stipen.

I know a couple of people on SDN that get a scholarship, but they don't necesarily want anyone to know about it, so they may be a little discreet about how they mention scholarships available.

Minority dental students get full scholarships to UCONN SDM (1-2 per yr). Also the top 10 students get between 1K and 4K depending on the state funding for that year. UPENN also gives out partial tution scholarships.
