Anyone rejected from Midwestern COD?

Hi I got a letter in mail yesterday saying that although my application has its strength but due to a large pool of applicants I will not be receiving an interview invite anymore! I was shocked! wtf? my stats are:
3.4 overall and 3.26 science. DAT 17 AA but i did let the school know that i will retaking my DAT in september and they did not even consider it. Its so bogus. Did anyone else receive such a letter in mail?

crackdat, i have the same stats and the same situation. most of my schools put my app on hold because they realized i was retaking the DAT, but midwestern sent me that letter yesterday too. it is bogus because, according to predents, some of the people who got accepted last year had the same stats as us or worse.

no I didnt even get an interview. it was straight up rejection pre interview. man i hated it. i called them and they had my application on hold and now a rejection letter.

i got the letter too yesterday. I emailed one of the adcoms to ask about what i need to improve on my application. She responded back with because they had a high number of applicants and with my stats my app wasnt as competitive. I guess its just luck or really random. I was also surprised but its just one school so its not a big deal.

For your 2ndary to midw, did you guys take the time to write the essay? Or just a couple sentences and call it done?

I was surprised due to friends getting in with similar stats just 10 months ago. Maybe they're trying to build a reputation for being the best/hardest... My thoughts are this... If you're a new school, you're going to have kinks, lots of kinks that have to be worked out. If I was in the top 20% of applicants I would not go to a new school and suffer through those toddler years. My dad teaches in a GPR program and has taught students from "new" schools and has commented on how far they are behind the other students that graduated from more established schools. In my bitterness I hope this ploy backfires on them and those that they plan to have in attendance are accepted to better programs elsewhere.

hey look everybody, don't get all sour if you get rejected. it's ONE school and hopefully you applied to more than a few others. chances are, like it was said earlier, your essay or personal statement wasn't exciting them or it wasn't exciting enough to overcome one of your stats. schools aren't that different around the country that some students are "that far behind" because they went to this school or that one so realize that your daddy was tryin to make you feel better.

I got rejected a few days ago. It's super frustrating because this is supposed to be an easier school to at least get an interview for. Now I have to do all these secondaries for other schools with the feeling I won't get in. Oh well hopefully my Berkeley post bac will help me, and maybe a DAT retake.

aug. 28th! i was thinking about taking it in sept but i didn't want it to affect my chances of getting an interview. plus, i knew school would be more intense then. good luck on your dat!🙂

i'm not kicking anybody! relax, i'm sure you applied to enough schools and did well enough to get an interview this year.
