Just wanted to know when all you M2 are writing the boards, and when your rotations start?

I'm set for June 1st. Scary, but good to actually have a date in mind. Rotations start at the end of June.

Later is better. You'll get better results. 😉

I set a date long ago....but that's because we take the boards earlier than most other medical students. March 2nd....yup....so soon. Anxiety is slowly creeping into my daily existence! 😱

I reserved my spot for June 9th. I'm in my buddy's wedding on June 11th -- I have apologized in advance for my heavy drinking.

end of may--currently on IM rotation. Haven't set a date however.

I'm thinking about the same time, our last final is may 9th (after 3 weeks of tests) and I'm most likely going to present a poster that first weekend in June so I just want to be able to relax and have fun.

april 22. our classes/exams end like march 17. rotations begin 2nd week of may, with some random class or two in the first week of may. i'm going mountain biking in moab, ut after the test. 👍

set mine this morning, June 2nd

so what's the exact process froms scratch for registration and setting the date--can someone list out the time process for the carious steps of registr to setting a date.

go to the NBME website fill out a form online and pay $445 (or something like that)
- about 15 minutes

print out part B and take it to your student affairs where they attach a pic and confirm you're you

mail to NBME
-receive confirmation in about 3-4 days (may take longer now)

they send you a bright orange piece of paper with the code to schedule a test date
-took about a week from when they received my part b (I hear wait time is longer now)

go to prometric's website and pick a location and date, hit submit
-about 5 minutes

June 13th hopefully. Finish 2nd year on May 13th and begin 3rd year on June 27th I believe.

thanks a lot--so i can do everything pretty much without scheduling a date? I mean, I can get the orange paper and then sched a date whenever, or is there a time period that you have to set the date within once you get the orange paper? I am not sure what date exactly I am taking it, but it's either late may or early june--so can i do all the prelim work and set the date closer to the time?

Once you get the orange paper you can schedule your date online. So yep, you can do the prelim stuff first...but be sure not to wait to long to schedule the date since you may be shut out of some days.

Writing?!?! Freaking Canadians
😛

I was initially planning on taking it exactly five weeks after class gets out...then I realized for us that would put it on Friday the 13th of May  So I'll just go Saturday instead.
