Hello! This is my 1st time making an actual post here, so I apologize in advance if I'm posting in the wrong thread.
I’m an MS2 and with Christmas coming up, I’m really starting to feel the pressure of Step 1.
For some background, I come from a school that sadly has a history of not having a very high Step 1 pass rate. From last year’s class, only about 30/60 people from the class have taken the step and out of those who have taken it, about 7 have failed, which makes me scared. I’m also a very average student, I’ve passed all my classes so far but with Cs and low Bs which makes me even more scared about this exam.
With all this being said, I just have no idea of what to do to prep to be able to not only pass, but to pass in time to be able to start 3rd year in time. I was thinking of getting one of those Step 1 prep courses, but when speaking to people in my school, they said they’re just a waste of money. I’ve also been told that the only way to pass is to start dedicated in December.
Is any of this true? Are prep programs really that bad? Has anyone ever used one that they would recommend or should I just self study? If not, should I really start studying from December, and if so, what tips do you guys have to juggle the school activities and dedicated? And what resources do you guys recommend to study from?
I currently use UWorld, Pathoma, Bootcamp and Sketchy which are great but I think it would be way too much to go over them again in just 2 months. I've been looking for an Mcat Bros style calendar service to see if that would help but I don't know if that exists.
I’m so sorry this post is so long, I’m just so lost, and I have no idea of where to even start. Any help/tips would be greatly appreciated
