I know I'm super late. I wasn't going to apply but I got my MCAT score on August 28th and it turned out to be acceptable. Before that I had pretty much accepted defeat for this cycle and was gonna wait a year but then I decided to go for it and squeeze it in.

However, I spent the last month and a half working on a piss poor personal statement and now I'm trying to get this all in by the 15th. Is anyone else in the same boat? Do I have a shot in hell of getting in somewhere?

MCAT: 30P
Post-bac GPA: 4.0
Overall GPA: 3.4ish
Undergrad GPA (Finance student): 3.1

EC's: Not great
But I am a professional golfer

Applying to:
Wake
ECU
Boston
Loma Linda
MCW
UNC
WV
Georgetown (reach)

Not recommended - I think it's really too late to be sending in your primary. Save your money, take the year off, bring up your ECs, and apply early next year.

Good luck!

I have no idea how long it would take for your AMCAS to be verified at this point of the cycle, but if you submit your AMCAS on Oct. 15, you'll probably miss the AMCAS deadlines for most schools (in terms of the time it takes for your AMCAS to be verified --> transmit to school --> school receive).

Just a few AMCAS deadlines for the schools on your list:
Oct. 31: Georgetown
Nov. 1: WV, NC, Loma Linda, MCW, Boston, Wake

I would wait until next year.

You won't even be verified by the deadline dates and you're going to be toileting some serious money. You're way too late if you're not verified yet and I think you need to reapply early next year. if you do apply this year you need to apply to schools with deadlines a lot later than the schools you listed. Most of these schools that you listed will have their deadlines before your application is verified!!!

Yeah you're a below average applicant (I'm not trying to offend you I'm trying to be realistic). Continue golfing for another year and apply next June/July. You are so late in the cycle at this point that it will be November by the time you get/turn in secondaries (if not December). By then the majority of interview offers will be gone and they will be unlikely to offer one to you.

You need to apply early when they are a little more generous with their interview spots and you have the chance to get the interview and really shine.

Do you even have LORS in hand?

Don't do it. You will not be successful. Shoot for getting everything in early next cycle.

Consider retaking the MCAT if your prep scores were consistently higher than what you made on the actual, because your low GPA in combo with the below avg acceptee/matriculant MCAT is a tough combo to overcome, and it is downright deadly with a late late late app.

The OP won't miss the AMCAS deadlines at any of these schools if he/she submits Oct. 15. Oct. 15 is before Oct. 31 and Nov. 1.

Those deadlines are AMCAS primary submission deadlines, not AMCAS verification deadlines.

For example, Georgetown's secondary completion deadline is December 20.

However, I would still say that it's best to save your money for a few reasons.
1. You're late
2. Your stats are low
3. Your EC's being weak will absolutely kill your app even if you were submitting early

Unless there's more to your ECs than being a golfer, you need to take some time off and build up some ECs. What are your current ECs?
