Verified" means AMCAS has checked your schools attended and coursework against the transcripts you have submitted to them. You would think that this would be an easy process, easily accomplished by your average 8th grade educated person! But no, for AMCAS folks it is so incredibly difficult you wouldn't believe it! Their task is made even harder by the fact that they lose a good percentage of all transcripts sent to them, plus they cannot figure out things like maiden names, and different student ID numbers from different schools, even though the application asks for them. Also, you would think that they would give applicants some clue about the process of verification, but no! That's why SDN is so essential. Through collective sleuthing, inference and deduction the brave souls on SDN who went through the application process this year managed to figure out what red X's, blue slashes and O's, and the appearance of the "change notification button" and the Date Processed date meant! Of course they mostly watched helplessly as folks who submitted their apps
way later than them got verified out of order (that's another thing about AMCAS folks, they can't put things in order according to dates!), or as someone else's MCAT scores appeared on their application, or their own scores never appeared at all.
In a nutshell, it's been totally nuts, but hopefully they got the bugs out this year and it will be better next year. One is presumably verified when the Date Processed appears in the upper right hand corner of the application when you open the "Print Application" window. Of course, some folks have been "unverified" when they tried to update their application according to AMCAs instructions. So nothing is ever written in stone with AMCAS! Hope that answers your question.
