anyone studying for 2016 mcat ???

I'm studying for summer of 2016 - not sure exactly when I'll write it. Probably July or August.

I have the EK 101 verbal passages book. I will buy the AAMC materials, and books for the behavioural and biochemistry sections. I'm having trouble choosing between Kaplan or Princeton for this. Maybe even EK would be better, because I just need a quick review. I'm going to focus a lot more on practice questions than reviewing the material verbatim. I wonder if the Khan academy videos and passages have been enough for most people to quickly review the material?

In terms of books, I would suggest for sure the AAMC Official Guide, and then to choose review books, EK books are great for if you want a concise review that only focuses on the high yield material. Kaplan books cover everything that could possibly be tested on the exam and read more like a traditional textbook. Depending on what you need those are both great options.

Another must have is the EK 101 Verbal book. This has 101 passages that are most similar to the AAMC ones or, if anything, a bit more difficult. I've looked at other CARS practice passages and they just aren't the same quality.

I just bought the EK 9th edition set and have started reading the soc/psych book. So far, I really like how concise and easy to understand it is. I'm just afraid the books are TOO concise and don't cover everything that is on the exam. I was thinking of buying a set of the brand new Princeton Review books (the ones coming out Feb 23, 2016) as a supplement. Does anyone have any suggestions on whether it is worth spending another $300 on TPR books?

I don't think that's necessary if you want to save money. Another option is that you could look at the Khan Academy videos to supplement your EK books. These cover everything tested. You are right the EK books are very concise, that would be a good idea to supplement them with something else. 🙂
