anyone use gold standard??

i am wondering if anyone has done the online exams from the gold standard?

i am concerned because i keep on getting 8/9 on the physics section.... and it seems it has way more calculations/reasoning than the aamc/real mcat?? has anyone else found this to be true? on the other hand, verbal questions seem to be really really easy compared to the aamc.

how accurate have you found the gold standard to be to the real test or practice aamc's?

i used the gold standard, and i did find it a little different from the actual exam and also the practice AAMC ones.
Like you said, I also found the verbal easier and PS calculation heavy.

If you have access to AAMC ones and or princetown review/kaplan, i would use those along with the gold standard.

The BS is fun though 🙂 If you need extra practice, it won't hurt to do them.

thanks.... i did all the aamc and kaplan one month ago, and have been studying since, so i want to know how much i have improved and what to i can predict for the test.

if you have taken the real test, would you please post how it compared to the results you got on GS?

I took the 8/14 one so I haven't gotten my scores yet.

Sadly, I didn't really take the Gold Standard ones as full lengths after the first few that I practiced with at the beginning of my studies.

I ended up using parts of the gold standard towards the end of my studying for just passage practices.

The best predictors i think are the AAMC full lengths.

I had a friend that practiced with all the gold standards, and her real MCAT score turned out to be similar to her gold standard scores.

Towards the end, it's all about test taking strategies anyways.

i used the gold standard but only took sections at a time... based on my may 31st test, i scored higher on the real MCAT than the predicted scores on gold standard. i was really surprised. im still waiting for Aug 14th score. hopefully higher than gold standard test scores!

Those GS tests had some crazy curves, and very poorly worded sections. I would only use them if you ran out of other tests.

One should be very suspicious of anything that claims itself to be the "gold standard." j/k
