Anyone using ChatGPT for Insurance Appeals?

This forum made possible through the generous support of SDN members, donors, and sponsors. Thank you.
3 for 3. I don't think people at the insurance company actually read the letters. I think the whole exercise is an administrative barrier to treatment.
Yes, this!!! -- although I'm not sure what you mean by "read the letters." Usually, the customer service reps can barely speak or understand English so reading is out of the question.

edit: You're a genius btw for knowing to do this

My mom passed away this time last year
Sorry to hear that. My mom died several years ago. It will get easier. I was very close with my mom but I'm 100% completely okay with her passing. If you want to PM me you can. I can let you know how I dealt with it if you feel the urge. If not, hang in there.

This thing is amazing. I used to pay a lot of money to freelancers to write articles for my website and my blog. This AI software spits out perfect 1000 word articles in 20 seconds. Something that would take 3 days for the freelancer to write and then I'd have to cross check their work with plagiarism detector software (so they don't just copy and paste from 5 different articles into 1 for me and bill for the "work performed"). Will redo my entire website soon, all the old stagnant articles.

Can't believe what technology can do. Unbelievable!
Universal basic income is not too far away when we're all jobless.
Rejoice! When we’re all jobless we won’t have to fill out disability forms.

Procedure Note for Epidural Steroid Injection:
Pre-procedure Instructions:
  • The patient is instructed to arrive fasting for at least six hours prior to the procedure.
  • The patient is informed of the potential risks and benefits of the procedure and has given informed consent.
Procedure:
  • The patient is placed in a prone position on the procedure table.
  • The skin over the lumbar spine is prepped with antiseptic solution and draped in a sterile manner.
  • Using fluoroscopic guidance, a needle is advanced into the epidural space at the desired level.
  • A small amount of contrast is injected to confirm proper needle position and to assess for any complications such as dural puncture.
  • A mixture of steroid medication and local anesthetic is then injected into the epidural space.
  • The needle is then withdrawn, and a sterile bandage is applied to the puncture site.
Post-procedure Instructions:
  • The patient is monitored for any complications such as headaches or fever.
  • The patient is advised to rest for the remainder of the day and to avoid heavy lifting or strenuous activity for 24-48 hours.
  • The patient is instructed to report any worsening of symptoms or new symptoms to the treating physician.
  • The patient is scheduled for follow-up visits to assess the effectiveness of the procedure and to determine if additional injections are needed.
It is important to note that epidural steroid injections are not recommended for everyone, and the most appropriate treatment will vary depending on the individual's condition and medical history. The procedure should only be performed by a qualified healthcare professional and under the guidance of a radiologist or anesthesiologist.

This reads like something from an Indian call center for some reason

I don't know if it does it's own web crawling/scraping or relies on something like Google, but it probably fuses popular results and replaces common phrases with something synonymous to give the appearance of originality. Kinda like what humans do...

Doxmity just released DocsGPT, a beta version of an AI program modeled after ChatGPT to help healthcare providers with prior authorizations, appeal letters, etc

Insurance companies will probably tolerate this for a few months before creating something more onerous than before.
