please help me out and look at your letter. in the bottom portion where it asks if you "accept your offer to be placed on the wait list", they have a signature line with your name under it. Then under my name there is a number.

Is this supposed to be my AAMC number or SS#, cause it is neither and not even close.

It's probably a file number or university number to protect those two sensitive numbers, or expedite their admissions filings. I doubt they sent you a letter by accident. How many digits is it?

8 digits

i'm sure it wasn't a mistake, just wondering

hey lisa,
i also pm'ed you on this but i thought the info might be useful to others:

the admissions office at drexel told me that they assign an id number to everyone. this is to protect our privacy in case something gets sent to the wrong person. that way no one else could get ahold of our ssn or amcas id.

I just looked at my waitlist letter and that number neither my social nor my AMCAS - I think it's just their random number like everyone's saying. Don't worry. :)
