Hi. I submitted my ERAS application on Monday of this week. I have been offered one interview so far. My letters won't be in for another 1-2 weeks.

My question is this....................when should I expect the interview invites? Do programs wait until all the LORs are in? Do they wait for the Dean's Letters?

I ask because I have vacation between October 22-November 18 and want to know when I should start booking flights.

THanks.

It's variable when programs starting inviting applicants for interviews and when they actually interview. Last year, anesthesia programs offered interviews fairly early compared to some other fields, however the bulk of the interviews actually took place late November to January. Some programs waited for dean's letters to come out and some didn't. Your vacation time isn't the best for interviews, it's a bit early. If you get offers for any the few days before Thanksgiving take them, because most prorams don't interview that week. I submitted my application around this time last year and I got most of my invitations mid october to the beginning of november. FYI, medicine programs generally have more dates than aneshesia programs. So if you're traveling to an area where you have anesthesia and prelim interviews, the prelims will likely be more flexible with dates (you often get interviewed combined with categorical applicants).
