i know its hard to say when you did not take the exam before but did anyone think that there were any changes to this exam like they said there would be?

Like what?

Well I don't know what "they said there would be." But...

There were more "use the same set of answers" questions and more "sequential" questions than on my step 1. I assume because its not been around for a year and they have more questions. 1-2/section.

The questions were LONGER. USMLEWorld is not at all representative anymore. Not even close. Questions were 3-4x as long. Granted you don't need all the info, but it was definitely an adjustment. The USMLEWorld practice exam is closer but still short compared to the real thing.

haha touche. i'm not taking it for a while just heard dumb rumors about test being changed significantly. was just curious.

i took it on the 9th and thought it was basically 4 blocks of kaplan qbank and 4 blocks of uworld

65% easy mode
25% medium mode
10% hard mode
0% slam my face on the keyboard mode

whereas step1 was

50% easy
30% medium
10% hard
10% :diebanana:

Which of the 2 QBanks was better? Is it true the Q Stems are longer than what's presented in UW??

world- yes, everyone I've talked to (and I agree) says the stems are longer, nothing excessive but few lines longer. doesn't really change strategy or anything, just knocked me down from ~10 minutes left/block to 5 or less minutes.

the stems are definitely longer but there's also a higher % of easy questions per block that you can breeze through in 15-20 seconds. i never did any timed blocks and i still had 10-15 minutes leftover per block that i used for extra break time.

i'm probably the only person who thinks kaplan was equally good as world for preparation. that does NOT mean kaplan is a better resource for learning, only that you will see world-type questions as well as kaplan-type questions on the actual test. do world first and if you have time you can get through some of kaplan. this is basically what i did.

june/july - 100% of world
july - 90-95% of kaplan
aug 1-7 - redid 60-70% of world without reading any explanations.
