Hey SDNers,

Got a questions regarding ERAS. Was nominated for AOA, and unfortunately, was not selected. Was wondering if putting "AOA Nominee" under other awards/accomplishments was a good idea. Your thoughts? It supposed to be an honor to have been nominated. Just wondering, let me know. Thanks.

it says "awards/honors" meaning that awards = honors. It is "an honor" to be selected but in this case it does not equal an award. I would avoid trying to upsell things in your app because this could reflect negatively. You are not AOA. That is all that matters and it would be strange to say you were nominated as being honored.

At our school we never know who was nominated, just who is selected. I agree with the above poster though, it sounds a little desperate to mention an AOA nomination. It sounds like you are towards the upper end of your class and that will be established in your Dean's letter, as well as your transcript, so don't fret about getting due consideration for your class rank.
