Just realized I was selected as junior AOA but I already turned in my ERAS app. Guess I was so excited to read my congrats email that I glossed over the junior part. I have AOA on it but didn't specify it was junior AOA....I know it's not a huge difference but I was curious If there was even a place to do so in that drop down menu? No access to the ERAS app on my current computer.

I didn't remember a selectable option for junior AOA in the profile. I included it in my "Honors" section as "Alpha Omega Alpha Honor Medical Society (Junior Inductee)".

Also, your school will probably include it in your MSPE.

go to update. there is a AOA status drop down bar there. select it.

Eh. Probably would be tough for you to comment on fields other than anesthesia, I'd imagine. And as a PD.

That's really beside the point, though, as the OP's question has been answered.

Is there a way to designate that your school does not have AOA?

No PD is going to care if it is jr vs sr.

Yep... the distinction between Jr and Sr doesn't matter... Of course, nothing is absolute so sure, there probably are some places that care; but for the few places that it really makes a difference, it can be inferred from other parts of your application.

If you're a DO or IMG, they'll know that.

Total sidetrack... in my fellowship application I tried to indicate that I'm in AOA. The system didn't like it since I'm a DO. There wasn't a way to indicate that the AOA induction occured as a resident.

Yes, there is a spot to indicate that your school does not have an AOA chapter.
