I received 8 bio credits from AP Bio. I want to take both biology courses now towards the end of my undergraduate career to raise my science gpa(8 credits of A's hopefully). My question is, will taking these courses be counted towards my aacomas science gpa since I will not be getting credit from my university for them due to AP credit? Also, will the schools that I apply to look unfavorably on taking these intro bio courses when I've already completed all pre req's and other advanced bio courses? Thanks a lot for any input.

I wouldn't retake those classes unless there are absolutely no more upper division bio courses you could take instead, especially if you don't get credit at your university for them.

if you take them this late in the game, its pretty obvious what you are doing.

rather, take one really hard upper level bio/genetics/biochem class and own it.

Bad idea. Take a course that will more prepare you for the MCAT/medical school. The medical school will not count courses twice anyway, and the AP credit is already on your transcript.

Consider genetics, human physiology, histology, or biochemistry.

I thought they did consider classes taken over again and that they used the new grade for gpa calculation rather than the previous one. Also, that AP Bio class was Juniour year of high school which was 4 years ago. Wouldn't it be similar in principle to taking a class over if the grade received is not satisfactory? I also want to retake gen. chem. 2 and orgo 2 in my last semester because I received a B and B- respectively. Factoring all this in will leave me with a science gpa that's probably around 3.5 instead of about 3.4. and Thank you guys for the advice so far, It has certainly had a bearing on my plans.

Let me get this straight you want to take over 3 classes, none of which are a walk in the park because you think you may be able to raise your SCIENCE GPA by .1? Are you serious? All the resources (time and money) that you are spending on trying to raise your SCIENCE GPA by an almost microscopic amount could be much better used at preparing to run through the MCAT like a knife through hot butter. Fuggadaboutit!
