I've taken AP Biology in High School and recieved a 5 on the exam. That score translated into 8 credits(2 courses) of General Biology at my college. Has anyone had any problems using that to fulfill their General Biology requirements for DO school?

A friend of mine is applying to Physician Assistant schools and soe would not take that for their prereqs.

This is concerning me since I've already taken 30+ credits as a post bac and I don't want to take a year of biology, which makes no sense since I've taken upper level courses such as Anatomy, Physiology, Microbio etc, that base off of those general bio classes.

Some schools won't take AP credits. They usually list it on their websites if you want to check it out.

As long as you have at eight hours total of biology (anatomy, phys, micro, whatever) and at least two hours of some kind of bio lab, then it shouldn't matter. I had AP credit for bio, but I think they wound up using my two undergrad physiology classes and one lab when they needed bio grades to determine my science GPA.
