Hey all

So I got credit from my undergrad for AP Stat, but wound up taking the class for which I got credit anyway since med schools don't accept AP's for prereq's.
The AP Course is listed on my transcript, but so is the course I took. For the AMCAS, should I list the AP course also? Or just the class? I don't want them to think I'm trying to count it twice...

Thanks!

Med schools do accept AP if it appears on your transcript. Yes it needs listed.

Not ALL med schools accept AP for pre-reqs, many do. If it is on your transcript, you need to include it. No one is going to be confused by it. On secondaries sometimes you have to write out your pre-reqs, there just include the actual class you took.

OP, I had AP credit for Chemistry, then took it in college anyways for the reasons you listed. Just list your AP credit under High School status and the year of your Freshman year, i.e. 2005?

Then list the course you took in college as you would for any other class. Do not list it as a repeated course. I hope this helps. 🙂
