hey i took AP cal bc in high school and got a 4 on it, so i that exempts me from cal 1 and cal 2 at the college i go to right now. i will be taking statistics later on. however, i have a few questions:

1. does washu, duke, and upenn accept ap cal credit? it seems a lot of the top medical schools accept it. however, on the washu and upenn med school website, it never mentions AP credits.

2. if i take non-cal based physics, will that look bad since i have calculus credit?

3. should i use it?🙂

I'm in the same situation and I'm going to use it. No more calc, but I have to take Stat 2 for my major.

Duke :
One semester of calculus plus one semester of an additional college-level math, statistics or biostatistics are strongly recommended
UPenn:
If you have AP creditin courses required for medical school(Biology, Chemistry, English, Mathematics, and Physics) you need to take additional courses in those areas to complete the medical school admission requirements.

I had AP credit for calc and I opted to retake calc 2 (I was already using AP bio credit, didn't want to risk more than that). Easiest A ever. 😀 Good boost for BCMP.

Why don't you take calc 3, linear, or diffeq?
You have done quite well in math so far, so you might as well consider advancing in it.🙂

lol i think i mightve have forgotten everything i learned in calculus haha. i took it junior year of high school. i was going to dual enroll and do cal 3 senior year but i decided not to.

yeah...and also...calc kind of sucks . It's also a gamble grade-wise. Those prof's kind of do their own thing with respect to grades, and certainly aren't on board with the ~4.0 average required of the pre-med student. To engineers a 2.0 is akin to our 3.5.

Exactly, that's why I'm glad I have it out of the way with AP credit.
