Hey all quick question about AMCAS coursework.

So in high school I took AP bio and received a 3. When I got to college I initially tried to use it to get credit, but if I recall correct, I ended up taking the course anyways (general bio), hence foregoing the possibility of gaining credit.

However, the AP course appears on my transcript as BIO 100 listed in the summer before my freshman fall semester. There is a grade "Y" listed (meaning passed), however in the credits received there is "0.00" credits listed. Under that course is is listed "Repeated: Repeat - Excluded from GPA and Hours Earned."

Listed in my freshman fall semester, BIO 181 (general bio) is listed with an "A" and "4.00" credits received.
This worries me because I would rather not have a class listed as repeated when I chose not to use the AP course for college credit.

Has anyone had a similar issue or has advice?

Thanks!

I did the same thing with a Spanish class. I initially classified the college course as being a repeat, but when I was verified it was changed so that the college course was no longer listed as a repeat, and the AP course was classified as "exempt". So you can probably classify yours the same way and it shouldn't be considered a repeat.

Thank you for the information! I think I will forego listing the class as a repeat and list the AP course as "exempt." Also going to call AMCAS tomorrow. This is just frustrating, I should not have even mentioned AP credit before enrolling.

Yeah I know the feeling, AP credit ended up screwing me over more than helping me. Good luck, I hope you figure it out!
