Hi,

I have several AP credits I carried over from HS but on my transcript it doesn't have any grades attached to it.

For example it just says

Chem 142 AP Chemistry 5.0 (<-this is the # of credits I recieved)

So what should I put as the grade for my AP credits on the dental application?

On the application it says the grade must match exactly as it is written on the transcript.

Thanks in advance.

Just select No Grade (NG) or Pass (P). There was a discussion on here a few weeks ago about which of the two to put down, but I don't think it really matters one way or the other. I doubt many of us actually have grades for our AP courses appearing on our transcripts. And make sure to select the AP option under special classification drop-down.

Nope. No grades. CR or P would be the appropriate designation for the grade.

Hey guys, I'm gonna post something direct from the application instructions:

Include information and corresponding grades for every course you have ever taken at any U.S., U.S. overseas or Canadian institution, regardless of whether credit was earned. All courses that appear on your transcripts and for which a grade and/or credit were ever assigned will be included in the ADEA AADSAS GPA calculations, even if they are not included in the GPA calculations of the transcript-issuing school. This includes, but is not limited to:

Courses that have been repeated. Both grades from repeated courses are used in calculating the ADEA AADSAS GPA, even if this is not the policy of your college/university.
Courses that you failed, regardless of whether they have been repeated.
Courses you took in high school for college credit that appear on a college transcript. Do not send high school transcripts to ADEA AADSAS.
Courses taken for credit at American colleges overseas (i.e. Study Abroad).

I feel that this means you should just report the grade that you received from your AP course. Let me know what you think.

i took AP classes, that don't show up on any transcript, because I got a 3 and my univ required a 4. Do i need to put these somewhere?

If that grade appears on your transcript, then yes. If not, do not put the grade. Select whichever grading option most closely matches that which appears on your transcript (usually NG, CR, or P). From what I've gathered, most college transcripts simply list the credits granted by the AP course, not the actual grade you received in that course (that would be on your HS transcript) or the grade you got on the actual exam (1...5).

Don't take my word for it, but I don't think so. Only put them down if they appear on a college transcript.

From what I understand by taking this statement apart:

"All courses that appear on your transcripts" = AP Credit Courses

"which a grade and/or credit were ever assigned" = Could have been assigned a grade in high school

"even if they are not included in the GPA calculations of the transcript-issuing school" = Doesn't matter if your college didn't list grades for them

"will be included in the ADEA AADSAS GPA calculations" = How else will they use it in their GPA calculation unless you give them your grade from that class?

Does this make sense to anyone else? Thanks!

I took college courses at my current university during high school, over the summers of '06 and '07, but my true undergrad career has been '08-'11. How do I enter my college info? Do I say I started in '06 so that I may enter these courses (although then it looks like I took forever to graduate...), or '08?

Thank you!

You could call to double-check, but I just listed the AP credits I earned in high school under my first (fall) semester of university. That's what I was told to do by the AADSAS rep. You should not create a separate session for AP courses.

It does look like AADSAS wants ap grades listed from hs, but does that mean you need to have your hs transcript sent in then?
