This has probably been ask many times but do AP scores transfer to med school? I took AP stats in high school and scored a 3 on it.. I transferred the AP credits to my college and they gave me credit for statistics. I wonder if it also counts for med school. Since I had a passing score on it, my school isn't letting me take the class again. So I'm kind of in a mess.

So I can just take an advanced course in statistics to cover it? Like biostatistics, economics statistics, applied statistics to psychology, or others. It doesn't have to be the regular basic statistics right?

Very few schools will accept AP credit as a prerequisite. If you are placing out of Bio I, you need to take an upper level bio in addition to Bio II. Also, not many schools require stats.

I've finished for 1 year of calculus which is the requirement for MOST of the schools. But some of em require statistics =__=. So an advanced course will do right?

excatly, if u do that, u'll be covered for all med schools 👍

From my experiences, if your college gave you credit then it counts. But that only happened to me for a humanities requirement.

AP scores do not transfer to medical school. Credits that your college gives you for AP scores do.

Actually, the vast majority of schools will take AP credit for prerequisites... it just depends on the prereq. Bio seems to be the biggest hurdle, but if you take an upper division course or two, you're golden. There are a few more that don't accept chemistry credit, but very, very few don't accept Physics or English credits.

ah, the perfect thread to ask my question

do you guys think economic statistics will count as a "math" class?

I placed out of Bio I and did not go beyond Bio II. It didn't pose a problem to me that I know of, but I can't be sure it didn't affect any decisions during my application process.
