I've posted a few negative posts in the recent past, and i apologize for them.

can anyone tell me how can i search for all the posts posted by me, and how do i delete them?

i dont think it's fair for medical students to make decisions based on what someone said on some anonymous forum.

You cant delete, but you can go and edit them and replace them with "." or something of the sorts. But also remember, when you put something on the internet to really consider what you are writing. Most things you say you cant take back and if you are in an interview in the future try to stay rational.

Then again, everyone has already quoted everything he said so that's no help. I think the only way is to get the mods to intervene or donate a large sum to SDN to have the ability to delete threads.

Noone is going be able to pin a Internet forum stunts on you. Not enough factual evidences even if you posted your own name. You can just say: "oh idk, my friend is pulling a pranks on me... Something like that." They were all just messing with you.

This is true, SDN will not give out your name or details about you.

a minor disciplinary infraction is not a crime. it has nothing to do with the criminal system.

No, but I am sure not reporting it on the AMCAS (which could be considered a legal document since you sign it) could be a crime.

AAMC investigates and may report to legitimately interested parties discrepancies in information, attempts to subvert the admission process, and any other irregular matter that occurs in connection with application activities.

You have to check off a bunch of boxes asserting everything is correct and that you have verified it all (including this little gem quoted above). Telling us that you were not going to report it would mean you are giving incorrect information which would be dishonest and unfair. Schools probably could rescind your acceptance and possibly your medical license if they ever find out since you wouldn't have made it in the school if they found out you lied to them in the first place by not reporting it.

Just my two cents.

SDN moderators tend to not only ban but also delete all solicitors who advertise on the forums along with their posts. They delete everything. So if you edit all of your past posts into advertisements, your posts would get deleted. I think...If it is true, then I hope the moderators fix this.

I don't know, maybe because you seem amoral and a little bit like a dick trying to take an acceptance from someone else by being completely dishonest.

Take a deep breath and relax OP. Deleting at this point will serve no real purpose.

And even if an Adcom had transcripts of your threads and posts from SDN in front of them during your interview, it will be to your credit if you demonstrate that you have matured, formed more informed opinions and learned some humility. Apologizing and asking for help is a good step in that direction.

We all have made a few miss steps on this forum. I got flamed on my very first thread😀

Learn to edit yourself, remember that your opinion is not the Word of God, learn to distinguish good advice from bad and things will be better for you on SDN and in life.

I am saying that you could get in if you were honest about it and told all the schools. That would be the right thing to do and I wouldn't mind being in the same class as you.

However, if you decide to be sly and pull the wool over the ADCOM's eyes then you probably don't deserve the seat. I wonder how you would feel during the ethics portion of the class.

I completely agree. I don't want you to not be a doctor, I just question your character and decisions.

If I were you, I would donate the money to be a gold member (I think it is $20). Then I would delete the forums you started that are incriminating. On the AMCAS I would note that you got an IA. Spend time writing a very mature description of the situation and resolution. Then copy and paste it into every secondary that asks about it. You do the honest thing and have nothing to worry about in the future.

I think overall you have been given lots of good advise from LizzyM and other applicants. but you don't appear to take a moment to ever consider what people recommend. You are combative and that's not good for you. This process is very tough so I understand how upsetting your situation may appear but you really need to take a deep breath and chill down. K? step away from the forums and get some fresh air. Then reread the threads and the suggestions when you will be able to reflect on the advise you asked for.

You mentioned earlier about not applying this cycle and that may be a good idea for you. It seems like this is all so emotional for you that you're reacting and not really thinking clearly.

We are all competitive, but people have been reaching out to help you. It's going to be ok if you listen to the counsel you've been given.

Are you just looking for sympathy? Someone to tell you that you can do it? People have been telling you that you can apply this whole time and get in (assuming you don't act like you do online in real life) and all you've done was bitch and moan. My god.

He posted information about his IA. Basically he stole rare sheet music from the library and then said how he wouldn't get a committee letter. He also gave his GPA and exact MCAT score (from memory a 41). I am sure adcoms can match the two together since it is a very rare occurrence with a high MCAT score and GPA.

Music Activities:
For the past three years, I spent, on average, 30 hours a week practicing my instrument (oboe). I've won multiple campus-wide recitals, and I received high distinction in my music major - did an honors thesis and went through a very rigorous evaluation process. If I don't apply this cycle, i'll probably take a year off and do some music-related activity.

During the summer of 2009 (right after my freshman yr), I spent close to two month in Sichuan Province China working as a volunteer serving the community after it was severely affected by the 2008 sichuan earthquake. because i was a chinese citizen at that point (US green card), it was easy for me to just go and sign up as a volunteer.

Now it is getting easier to match him, even if he didn't list his IA. The fact he is a music major narrows the possible applicants dramatically and then his minor narrows it even more. The GPA, MCAT scores and ethnicity would identify him completely.

I would hope the people running SDN (doctors, med students, residents) have better things going on in their lives / are not spiteful enough to do something like that.

OP, everyone's given you really great advice. The best thing to do from here on out would be to admit what happened on your AMCAS application and explain the circumstances as there was no criminal intent involved to avoid any legal risks later down the road. I wish you all the best. As for the previous threads that have been posted, what's done is done. No need to rehash anything that has been said and you can move further with your journey towards medical school. Good luck!

I'll be honest, if he's a troll, then he's a damn good one. Walking the line between ridiculous and obvious well enough to shock and appall most readers is a pretty amazing feat.
