I would say you're WAY better off submitting earlier. I had a friend submit in September with average stats and they received zero interviews.

Haha I know, I came in wanting to help, but got no details at all. Overall, OP the answer is what you expect... September is worse than August, which is worse than July, which is worse than June. But its better than October lol... If you cant get your primary in until September, its ok, just make sure you can flip back your secondaries (pre-write and organize your letters of rec) as fast as possible.
