Heh just my luck that I go to school in the county that borders but is not considered part of the Appalachian region. 🙄 VCOM's adviser told me to write a letter of intent, and I'm guessing schools like West Virginia, Alabama, and Marian are going to want something similar. Apparently people do not realize that you can draw a Y across New York State and hit all the urban areas (Buffalo/Rochester, Syracuse, Albany, and NYC) and where your Y does not touch is just as rural as any place in the South. I grew up in a county that has more cows then people, the school I went to was K-12, and if you really want confirmation the surgeon I'm shadowing with once operated on a horse.
