So lets say your #1 school rejects you... Would you call them up/email them and appeal it?!?

I would go to my #2. I don't know why you would want to go to a school that rejected you and you had to argue with them to let you in. That's just my opinion though.

Jack, Not so true. I had a buddy that is now going to the school that originally rejected him. He bugged them enough to get an interview.

Neefs thats some wise thinking.

you can't appeal a rejection.

I was initially rejected from a school this cycle, however my advisor called them and informed them of my new DAT scores. The Dean of the school called me and now I have an interview in February.

There are so many people applying, if you seriously think a mistake was made on a rejection it doesn't hurt to call and ask. I definitely wouldn't take it personally as someone noted above. It could be a simple error, or you could walk away with great feedback on how to make yourself more appealing should you need to apply again. Constructive feedback is always a good thing.

I got rejected from UNLV and I called them and told them that I am re-taking my DAT. They told me to send my DAT score and they re-review it. I haven't hear abything back yet. Just like everyone says, call them and let them know you are interested. It doesn't hurt.
good luck

then why do you ask?

jb!🙂

I ask because I was rejected from At. Still. I feel like I was overlooked because of a 15 QR on my dat. I also feel I was overlooked because they messed up on one of my LOR's and my app wasn't complete until 8/9 when the had processed everything else in late june. My aadsas went out june 12th...

So in other words I have a few interviews, this was one of my top 5, and I was wondering if it was worth pursuing...

A telephone call is all it takes. You have nothing to lose at this point, so you might as well go for it. 🙂

Good luck.

I do agree with Jack that the success of appealing a rejection is probably quite small. Of course, as mentioned, when submitting new and improved information may improve your chances..However,to me ,that constitutes basically a reapplication.

When my appealed rejection was overturned to a waiting list spot, I was told that sometimes a second look into the file reveals some things that were initially overlooked, and are favorable. If you have better DAT scores or something as well that can help your case, I say go for it! Just do it sooner rather than later.
