Hey guys, looks like The Commission on Osteopathic College Accreditation (COCA) has posted for public comments proposed revisions to the accreditation standards for existing colleges of osteopathic medicine and new and developing colleges of osteopathic medicine and their corresponding evidentiary submissions.

I think we should use this opportunity to ask to
1. Reinstate the GME match requirement that they got rid of a few years ago. Whether it 95%, 93%, or even 90%, there should be a standard requirement, not the wishy-washy 'recommendation.'
2. Demand for transparency in match result. Each school should make public their complete match list each year, as well as number matched in main match, SOAP, and scramble.

You'd have to submit a letter to [email protected] no later than THIS FRIDAY, March 22, 2019 with your full name, title and organization.

For those interested in doing this, here is the website with how to go about doing it: https://osteopathic.org/accreditation/comments/

Of note in addition to sending it to [email protected], you need to include "Comment – Proposed Revisions to Accreditation Standards" in the subject line.

Here are the proposed revisions: https://osteopathic.org/wp-content/...ng-accreditation-standards-public-posting.pdf

I just finished sending my email.

We should all just email them an attachment of the LCME policies.

Does the LCME even have GME placement requirements? They didn't the last I checked.

I don't think LCME does either. But this is one case where we need to be better than them. I emailed as well.
