Any discussion of A&L Psych questions, 9th edition, can go in this thread.

Questions 127 in chapter 3: If 15% of patients with alcohol dependence commit suicide and 10% for schizophrenia, how is 0.4% for a mood disorder the highest rate of suicide? My understanding of age-adjusted rates is that it is just a correction for comparison among groups with different age populations, so that doesn't seem to explain it.

Question 128: How is "age 45 or greater" a better predictive variable for suicide than depression?

Another one: What is the 1st line treatment for Tourette's disorder? On page 33, Q33, it says that clonidine is the 1st line agent, but on page 190, Q20, it says that haloperidol is "clearly more effective" than clonidine.
