Hi Everyone,
So this is my first (and hopefully only) time applying to dental school, and I have a few quick last minute questions. I have my application filled out on the ADEA but I have not submitted it yet. I unsure of when I really need to send it to be competitive. Im taking my DAT on July 10th so I am awaiting my scores. I have also sent in my transcript to the ADEA already but its processing is waiting on my payment. So should I submit my application when I get my scores? Or should I send it now having only selected one school so my gpa gets sorted out, and then Ill add the other schools after? With that I assuming that I can just log back onto the ADEA app and add more schools whenever through them. As for the DAT, when I take my test what else do I have to do? Does the prometric center send my scores to the ADEA where theyll take care of it or do I have to scan and send something to each school Im applying to?

Ok so looks like I found most of the answers already. Just need advice on is it worth getting the app out now and what to do after walking out of Prometric with my DAT stuff in July

Go ahead and submit. Just apply to 1-2 schools, and add more once you know your DAT scores. This will allow your GPA to be verified.

If you take the DAT on July 10th, you're plenty early. Just go home from the test, add more schools (as needed), and you're all good.

Make sure you selected AT LEAST ONE dental school to send your scores to (which you should have done when you signed up for the DAT). If you aren't sure that you did this, call up the ADA (or maybe it's Prometric, I can't remember) and ask them to select some schools. You can honestly just select all of them. Might as well.

If you have 1 or more schools selected to get your DAT scores, then they will be automatically uploaded to your AADSAS application without you having to do anything.

I know it's an old post , but I hope you see my question Glimmer,,,im planning to retake my DAT on july 8th and I want to apply to NYU in early/mid jun and add more schools later. what should be my time line in terms of adding more schools? should I add the schools the week before I take my test or after ?

First batch usually gets submitted the last Friday of the month. A week or two difference is really minuscule imo. If you do add other schools later on, it'll just get sent out that friday during whatever week you submit the changes

that sounds like a plan ! I was afraid if I add more schools after I take the DAT , it would take another 4-6 weeks for the AADSAS to send my application to the new schools .
