Hi, I'm hoping some of you can give me your opinions.

I am a Canadian student that just finished my 3rd year, my gpa is around 3.2 or 3.3.
One concern is that I got a D+ in orgo II (after an A- in orgo I).
On the Canadian DAT I scored 22 in chem, 20 in bio, 21 in PA, and 24 in RC.
I have had summer research positions, multiple extracurriculars including president of a charity, and over 100 hours shadowing.

I am planning to apply this cycle to the standard schools for canadians like NYU, BU, detroit mercy etc. How heavily is GPA weighted vs the DAT?
What are my chances and what schools would I have the best chance at?

Thank you!

Thanks for the link, I have read that already! I am just not sure how heavily the schools weight GPA vs DAT, and if the D+ is an issue

Did you read the attached file at the end of the post? It has GPA/DAT scores for each school specifically.

I did! for example NYU has an average GPA around 3.5 and average DAT with scores around 20s. Since I have a lower GPA but higher DAT, I am just wondering if the high dat is enough to compensate for that discrepancy in GPA, hence why I am curious about weighting. Also if anyone has any experience with applying with a low grade like my D+.

Usually that would be the case! I'm not too sure though considering you're international. I just don't know what the average DAT/GPA is for Canadian applicants. I'm sure somebody else knows the answer. As for the D+, you'll need to retake it as schools require a grade of C or better in all pre-reqs. People get in all the time though with even F's on their transcript.

Are you sure about the C requirement in prerequisites? I know some schools have that requirement but others (NYU, BU) don't mention it on their website or on any resource I've looked at.

Look at table 11 & 12.
All I can see in those columns is a comparison between DAT categories, and a comparison between GPA and other things but not the DAT. Am I missing something?
