Applying to pharmacy schools have been a very long and tedious process; and to think, I thought I was finished in December. Just today, I found out that three of my schools haven't received my transcripts and one hasn't received my express mail package that I sent to them with all my application supplements. I had my transcripts sent in December and my express mail was signed by the college, but apparently they still didn't receive it. Ahh! I don't know what to do!!!! 😱
Another problem I have is that schools I'm applying to have Feb 1st deadlines which make me worry if whether or not they'll receive it before then. My GPA is a 3.9 but if I want to get into pharmacy I need to have them receive my transcripts.
I guess I wanted to know if anyone else was having problems or if it was just me.

Thanks

Hi!
RxFabulous,

I am sorry to hear this, but take appropriate steps and get things done by schools deadlines as soon as possible.

Good Luck!

I'm also having some problems. My fall grades were supposedly sent, but never received by PharmCAS. The first time, it took 4 days (beginning of December); it's been 10 days since I sent my transcript and still nothing from PharmCAS. I'm hoping to get it resent tomorrow. Also, one of my teachers writing a recommendation is being really slow about it. My supplimentary application materials aren't due until Feb 10, but my interview is Feb 2 so I was kind of hoping to have everything in by the end of the month. Arg! I go to WVU now as undergrad, and I'm applying to WVU SoP, why can't they just cut the middle man and talk to eachother???

Because you go to WVU! What's odd about WVU is that Morgantown is home to Mylan Pharmaceuticals. Yet, about an hour north on I-79 you come across the Mylan School of Pharmacy! What gives?

Hey WVURxGal! I have the same problem with PharmCAS. I requested my fall transcript to be sent a month ago. I know it was received by some other schools but I got an email from PharmCAS yesterday saying that they haven't received it yet! I don't know what's going on!

Hah, West Virginia can't get any love, not even from the companies in West Virginia.

Mylan does, however, like to feed us. We're something like the third fattest state in the country, so it makes sense that we'd get a lot of food donations over educational grants so large they name the school after the company 😉 I wonder if it's that way with everyone else... they just pick a week or two here, and everyone bends over backwards to feed the students. But Mylan does give us significant funding, so I can't complain. We've also got a CVS Future Planning Center (which looks like a bunch of "work for CVS!" pamphlets in room about the size of a walk-in closet) and I think a simulated retail pharmacy from Rite Aid. Something like that.

Now if only we could convince the companies to stop feeding us junk food that we don't need, and start using that money for scholarships... even the university spends lots of money on the pharm students. When I was cashiering at Kroger (I just quit 😀), I remember a day when the rural health department came in and bought $400 worth of crackers and cheese and fruit trays for the "rural health fair." I'd much rather that $400 either be donated to a food pantry or given as a scholarship, 'cause I don't know any pharm students that are starving to death. I'm probably going to be one of the poorest kids in pharm school, and if I can manage to feed myself I'm sure everyone else can... but lots of us have trouble with making tuition!

Um... what was I talking about again?

Oh yeah. Cancel my previous post; PharmCAS posted that it received my transcript (which it did, 4 days ago!) this morning. Hooray!

Well, they just posted that they had mine today, even though it says it was received a few days ago... actually, now that I think about it, they're saying it was received the same day I got an email saying they didn't have my transcript. Give it a few more days I guess... though you might be best off having it resent, just to be safe.

I am having the exact same problem with PharmCas and transcripts. I had my school send them three weeks ago and PharmCas is saying they have yet to receive them! But I stopped by the pharm school that I am applying to and they said not to worry because it is actually PharmCas's fault and not mine for the delay. I have been hearing some very mixed reviews surrounding PharmCas and their organization. But for all of you experiencing difficulties, you are NOT alone!

Am I the only one that didn't use Pharmcas to send in their application?
