I am a 3rd year osteopathic medical student, and I have a question for any peds resident, but especially osteopathic peds residents. I understand that in order to do a peds residency, I do not have to do any sort of traditional/transitional rotating internship year. However, I would like to do an osteopathic traditional internship year. Does anyone know how this scenario would work? Is it possible to apply the same year? Or do I have to apply for the residency during my osteopathic internship year? Is it possible to start the peds residency as a PG2 (assuming my internship was peds heavy)? Any insight would be appreciated 🙂
