just to get a few things straight.

I'm sending my transcripts on monday, and it will probably take a few weeks (lag time) for AADSAS to receive it right? so at this time, I can work on my application essay and fill out the app. And once AADSAS has received my transcripts i can e-send the app (which has no lag time) hopefully by early August, so they can verify my gpa. which might take a few weeks, then they forward it to my schools. is this a correct sequence of events? Will this still be considered "Early"?

and of course, since im using my univeristy letter of rec file service, my college just sends them to each of my schools once i tell them to, correct? ill do this ASAP when my LORs are all in.

as far as supplemental materials, what exactly do they mean by that?

thanks in advance!

I believe that your school will submit an electronic "commitee letter," which you will request through your aadsas application under the evaluators tab. Your school should have a person in charge with an e-mail address that you would enter in aadsas, who then contact your LOR file service at your college who will then send them in and electronic file to aadsas. That is how my university did it, your may be different. I would contact your LOR file service to see exactly how they process them.

Who knows what early is? Good Luck

Each of the dental schools may request "supplemental materials". I have heard that some schools just want your money for your secondary app. and others want a ton more info. Only time will tell.

You don't need to wait for AADSAS to receive your transcripts and/or LORs, before you can submit. Go ahead and submit when you have completed all the other sections. Then, when your transcripts and LORs arrive, they'll add them to your file and you'll see them online.
Not sure if you know it or not, but the first set of applications are mailed out mid July. So, you're application won't be included in the first batch. But I don't think you'll be late either. You'd be somewhat early.

Your school LOR service doesn't send the letters directly to your designated dental schools. It sends them all to AADSAS, and once received, AADSAS forwards them to your designated school. You do not have to wait for LORs to be received in order to submit your application.

These include secondary applications (already available for some schools), additional processing fees (some schools need them now, some will notify you when you should send them the check), pictures, etc.
I wouldn't trust AADSAS with the supplemental material section. Visit the schools' website in order to see what and when you should send this material.

thanks in advance!

Hope this answered your questions.

i think they tell you 4-6 week for processing time so that you dont call and inquire about ur app every day... i sent my submitted my app on 6/16 and sent my transcripts the next day and it took them like 8 days to process everything. so it seems the 4-6 weeks was a tad exaggerated.

just something to keep in mind

I sent my transcripts before I submitted my application electronically. It actually only took AADSAS about a week to receive the transcripts and after about a few days after I submitted my application, they verified my GPA. [they will send you an email letting you know that they have verified your gpa's] I say you should definitely finish your application ASAP. The only things you don't have to wait before you can electronically submit your application are your DAT scores and the letters of recommendation. From friends that have applied to dental school in the previous years, they say it's best if you submit your application by the end of June. But that's what they told me so that's why I submitted my app already. Good luck!
