Yep! I'm in at Emory's Global health department. Just Checked OPUS.

Let's ride kaa. I applied for Reproductive health and Population studies concentration. How about you?

Go Emory!:xf:

Stats (although they're on this forum somewhere...)

GRE: 150 V and a 153 Q. (Too much time studying for the MCAT?? I'm full of excuses...) :p
Major: Biology / Minor: Chemistry
GPA: 3.83

I was honestly kind of sweating because I know my GRE isn't great.

I checked Emory (MPH Global Health) today - rejected. But less than an hour later, I checked my email - Tulane MSPH in Parasitology and Tropical Medicine - accepted!! :D I never expected them to come the same day, but I'm sure glad they did. I interviewed for University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences too and should hear back by February. I feel really good about it. Tulane and UAMS were really my preferences so it looks like I'll have a decision to make.

Applied: UAMS, Tulane, Emory
Accepted: Tulane
Rejected: Emory

hello Epiwin and porcupine... congrats on ur UMich admits.. How did you get to know about admit? was it a mail or updated online?

The Department of Epidemiology sent me an email telling me that I was recommended for the admission and I would receive an official email from the School of Public Health soon. That official email came one day later, with details of the deadline to send financial form, etc.

UMich works very fast...I submitted my application to UMich through SOPHAS just before Christmas.

Good luck to everyone =)

I submitted on 11/14 and still to get an answer..

Y'all - I feel like you are the best to share this with: I had a dream last night about grad school applications that was so crazy. The best part was when I got a rejection from UNC, which included a hand-written note from a professor stating my essay "seemed like it was written by a 5 year old".

Oh lord. The best part about this was that I wasn't even stressing about this yesterday! Here's hoping for a quick January with lots of decisions... hahaha.

well it looks like my crazy dreams meant something - I just got accepted to Hopkins!!!!!

They only updated my online app, no email/mail yet, but HOLY CRAP!

For info: I submitted my app online on 11/30/11 and heard this morning.

YAYYYY I have life options now! One down, one to go!

str8fromcollege, congratulations!
When did you submit your applications?
I submitted my applications 11/22 and SOPHAS mailed them on 12/1. I have had several public health internships/volunteer work.

Crossing my fingers for more good news!

Porcupine.. congrats again.. UMich is slow for me.. :(

No worries. I submitted to several schools in November but haven't heard from them so far while some students have received admission from these schools. Don't be worried, just let the adcom do their job and we are better off focusing on other things (for me, my coming D.I.Y wedding ^^)

I am applying to MPH programs in Epidemiology.
Here are my stats:
GPA: 3.65
Major: Sociology, but took a lot of health/medicine related classes within Soci
GRE: 167 V, 157 Q, 4.5 W
Experience: Over a year working as an assistant patient care coordinator in a medical spa.

Applied: University of Minnesota, University of Washington, Berkeley
Accepted: UMinn
Rejected: None yet...

So, has anyone heard anything from UW or Berkeley, yet? I am leaning towards UMinn but I'm excited about all of the programs I applied to.

Emory just emailed me confirming that my application has been passed on to the Epi department for review. E-submitted 12/1, mailed 12/20, received OPUS 1/3, forwarded 1/11!

For Health Behavior/Health Sciences -

I wrote Berkeley a while back and they said,".As for admissions decisions, we hope to begin sending notification early March."

For UW - COPHP program ".Although I can't give you a firm deadline, I think you can anticipate news in mid-February"

Mine was mailed on 12/1 too.
I haven't heard back from Yale yet... When did you get the admission decision?
I was accepted to Emory!! I saw the decision on OPUS, but I did not get an email from them. Did you get the acceptance email from Emory?

I found out from Yale this past Thursday via E-mail. I have not received anything from Emory- just the update from Opus. Congrats! :)

Str8fromcollege- Congrats!!! How long after you received an email from Yale that your application was "Complete" did you get your decision?

Congratulation on your admission to UMinn. When did you apply and get the result? I also applied to UMinn but haven't heard from them yet. I am wondering if they would also notify students of the rejections or they would just ignore...

I also apply to UW. Let cross our fingers for good news =)

Congratulations!!! I got accepted to Yale a few days ago. Really quick turn around. I guess submitting a month in advance to the deadline pays off lol.

Finally posting on here because I got my first acceptance!! Emory BSHE!!! Can't wait to see some of you there!

It was super stressful waiting so here was my time line for everyone out there still waiting to hear back. Got an email from Emory saying the dept was reviewing my app 12/12, checked OPUS about 20 times a day lol didn't hear anything back so on 1/9 I emailed them. I didn't get into my first choice, global health, and they said that my application was forwarded to my second choice BSHE. I didn't get any emails from them about sending a new personal statement but got an email 1/12 that I was accepted to BSHE.

My stats:
GPA: 3.5
GRE: 510V, 600Q, 4W (never been a good standardized test taker!)
I've been out of school working for 2 1/2 yrs, lots of research undergrad in South Africa at an HIV clinic, working as an HIV counselor and tester for the past year.

Applied: Emory, Hopkins, BU, GW, USF
Accepted: Emory (BSHE)
Rejected: Emory (Global Health)
Waiting: Hopkins, BU, GW USF

Good luck to everyone!

Congrats! I just logged onto my OPUS and they don't have a decision letter for me. However, there are two new "To-Do" things on my screen, one of them being "Enrollment Deposit" the other "Enrollment Decision Form." To the people admitted to Emory, did you have similar To-Do tasks?

YUP! If you have the 2 enrollment "to-do" in your list then you're in!! Congrats!!!

In at Emory HPM! App Received by department on 1/10, acceptance phone call from a southern lady this morning. Talk about a quick turnaround!

I have a feeling it's going to be hard to make a final decision about where to go... I've never even visited any of the schools I've been accepted to so far and I'm not sure I have the $$ to make it to all 3 this spring. Any advice from current students/people who know these areas about what I could expect in terms of what the cities and student populations are like?
