Hello,

I received my BS in business administration and am currently doing a DIY post bacc, 23 y/o female. Assuming everything goes according to plan I will take O chem I over the summer and apply during the 2016 cycle. I would take biochem during the time I would take my MCAT.

Undergrad GPA: 3.43

sGPA (Undergrad + Post Bacc): 3.56 (expected)

Post-Bacc GPA: 3.8 (expected)

ECs as of right now:
volunteer in pediatric hospital 2007-2012
300 hours of shadowing
3 clubs-- including starting club that partners special needs young adults with a college age peer mentor
Volunteer at regular level 1 trauma ER 4 hours a week currently
Assist with marketing at special needs day program
Special Alternative Spring break in 2015, probably will do more alternative break trips through school

Thoughts on apply in 2016 or should I try to find a summer program and wait until 2017?

No good answers can really come until you start getting you practice MCAT scores.

Finish your program with a high GPA, study for the MCAT and report back.

Hello,

When you say 2016 cycle, do you mean the cycle that you have you matriculate in 2016 or the cycle beginning in 2016? Typically people refer to the application cycle by the matriculation year. If that's what you mean, you'd have to take the MCAT this spring before applying in June...meaning you wouldn't have taken O chem I before taking the MCAT? And what do you mean that you'd take biochem "during" the time you'd take your MCAT? Can you clarify your proposed timeline?

My timeline would be:

O Chem 1 this summer then o chem II in the fall then biochem in the spring and mcat during that semester

WAMCs without MCAT scores are worthless. We can't tell you anything.
