I got 16ts 18pat 17 AA on my DAT and am wanting to retake in 3 to 6 months. GPA is 3.6 sgpa 3.4.

I was thinking of still applying this cycle and taking the DAT again in 3 months, but am also considering holding off until next cycle and retake in 6 months. I know its a gamble. . . any thoughts?

I've applied this cycle and haven't even taken my DAT yet. I also know someone who got in last year with a 17AA. It all depends on where you are applying I guess.

your GPAs are average compared to dental schools enrollees however, your DAT scores are all at the lower range of scores some schools accepted.. which means most people with these scores probably had some killer application, URM, or a crazy story to tell

I've been told by Adcom Reps at fairs that you should hold off if something is setting you back. If you apply now, you'll need to show a drastic improvement next year if you don't get in b/c of lateness & DAT scores. I would take the DAT after you've spent the most time possible studying between this cycle and next. On the opposing view, you have an average GPA, with below average DAT scores, I'm sure many have gotten in before with the handicap, and I'm sure it'll happen again for many more. If I were you, I would invest the money in study material instead.
