I am worried about applying this year because I take the MCAT in August (2nd time), and I don't want them to base my application on my first MCAT. If they do, I am sure to be thrown out of most piles upon first look. Also, I saw where some schools do not encourage re-applicants unless dramatic improvement......I don't want to be rejected, which im almost sure of, and be a reapplicant that is not encouraged to re-apply to a school I really want to go to. What to do..........

If you mark on your AMCAS that you will be retaking the MCAT in August, then most schools will wait to make a decision about giving you an interview until they receive your new scores in October. You sshould still apply in June though to minimize the amount of time you will be behind from retaking the MCAT in August.
