What route should one take with the following stats?

Asian
California

cGPA: 3.18
sGPA: 3.06
MCAT: 34Q (B12, P10, V12, Q)

ECs: 95 percentile ECs...president of clubs, founder of club, hundreds of volunteer hours, etc.

Research: 1 year of research, publication possibility undetermined

Trend: 3.4 --> 2.5 --> 3.0 --> 3.9

Post-Bacc? Can theoretically raise GPA to 3.38 for cGPA and BCPM
SMP? Low GPA and fairly decent MCAT
Apply? Might as well give it a shot and apply broadly?

If you can get your cGPA to a 3.3+ with a postbac, with your MCAT of 34, you would theoretically have a 40-46% chance of an acceptance. However, I think that your very low BCPM GPA might make that statistic iffy. You might need to raise the BCPM further than a 3.3+ to reassure adcomms that you can survive their science-intense curriculum. An SMP could have a more reliable outcome, but only if you can earn extraordinarily high grades to make the expense worthwhile. Either way, your chances at an MD school hinge on your ability to reliably produce excellent grades the way you did the last quarter.

I would not suggest applying at this time, other than possibly to DO programs. There are some state allo schools where you might have had a shot, but California isn't one of them.
