Applying Combined (MD/MPH) Programs - Does it increase my chances?

Hey guys. I am interested in the MPH program with MD. I know that you can apply now by declaring the dual program or decide later when you get to med school. My question is does it improve my chances of getting in (like BU) if I apply to the combined program now?

No, it wont help. Only apply to MPH if you have a strong interest in public health.

If anything, you may get asked at your interview and falter in your response since you only applied thinking it would help you, thus shooting yourself in the foot.
