I want to know my odds, My first 2 years in school were fine(top 50%) of my class.
Comlex level 1 463 (2nd attempt)
Looking for IM / FM residency ??
Can someone tell me which programs that consider failure attempts

Programs will have on their website whether they require first attempt passes on USMLE/COMLEX. I would highly consider looking at previously AOA IM/FM programs and really put your best foot forward either through obtaining sub-Is there or staying in close touch with the program aka expressing interest without being overbearing.

I would only apply FM... While both FM and community IM programs are not competitive, FM in general is more forgiven when it comes to step failure...

It does not mean it's gone... The point I am trying to make is that you have a better chance at FM than even community IM. Apply broadly to both FM and IM... One of my classmates who matched this year (class of 2018) with repeat step1 and step2 applied equally to FM and community IM, had 8 FM invites and ZERO IM invites. There are other similar stories in my class last year with people who matched into FM and had no love from IM programs... Then again, I attended an MD school; things might be different on the DO side.

I feel like IM programs prefer IMG/FMG with ok board scores than US students with board failure(s).

If you are able to get 215+ in step1, you might be OK for even low tier university IM if you dont have to submit your COMLEX score(s)...

Not at all. You apply to the DO programs that failed to match and you will have a shot. You should do both tho, to increase the chances of matching.

IM and FM are both not all that competitive and had quite a good amount of positions left over in the SOAP and in the post match scramble. Pass the rest of your stuff on 1st attempt and you should be ok and try to get that level 2 in the 500 -600s. If asked at interview have a strong plan for level 3 and your in service exams.
