Applying June 1st vs after August MCAT

This year my secondaries didn't get back to schools until December due to waiting for August MCAT results. I retook the MCAT to improve an earlier score and wanted to wait for results before sending in the AMCAS application. I'd very much like to hear what you all think of applying June 1st vs waiting as I did - especially you reapplicants like me. I'm on "Hold" at one school and am still waiting to hear if I'll even interview at 2 others. I figured if THIS year doesn't work, I'll get my AMCAS app. in on June 1st, and my transcripts this week. BTW, my grades and MCAT are competitive, so this isn't a problem. Thanks for any and all coments!

One thing of importance: this year AMCAS moved back the application date to June 18th.

So that gets August MCATers a little closer to even footing with everybody else.

I STRONGLY, STRONGLY advise you NOT to wait to get your scores before applying. My school is fairly small so I know almost everyone who applied this year. Most of those people were first-time MCAT takers and most decided to wait until AFTER they received their scores to apply. I, on the other hand, did not...I had my AMCAS in by June 15th and all my secondaries complete before I even took the test. I am also the ONLY one who got interviews (and ultimately, accepted). Some of my friends who did have previous scores also waited for their "new" test scores...they did get interviews...but they were all very late (one still has an interview in April) and have been waitlisted everywhere.

Do NOT wait...especially if you have "competetive" scores!!!!
