Two things hinder me being early on admissions:
1) I'll get my MCAT scores back in September (I'm taking the test in August)
2) I have to take an english writing class over the summer to meet the 6 required credit hours for some schools

I've been reading around and have seen people recommending turning in apps and updating them over time... is that advice applicable in my scenario where I have both MCAT and transcript delayed (can't turn them in until August/September)? Is it better that I just send out everything ASAP when I get my MCAT scores? Are DO schools slightly more lenient with late applications in September? I heard late apps suffer greatly in MD admissions, which has me worried.

Side question: Is it okay to make a 'chance me' thread without an MCAT score? I know they are absolutely vital but as soon as my scores come in September I'll be immediately sending them out to schools. I'd figure it'd be prudent to have a list of schools ready to go

I appreciate any input! : )

Depends on your GPA I think- If you have a high GPA and a good MCAT score, I think applying to DO schools should be okay then since it goes later in the cycle?

I would not submit them w/o a MCAT, idk if you'd even get secondaries back w/o one (someone can correct me if I'm wrong).

You can make a "chance me" thread in the WAMC forum, but usually the advice you get is contingent on your MCAT score, so it isn't that helpful w/o one but once you have a decent idea what you're going to score (based on practice tests) feel free to do so?

Hi I'm in the same predicament this cycle. What did you end up doing if you don't mind me asking?
