Hi all, I'm taking the DAT on July 11 and thinking of submitting the application that week as well. I have the application and the personal statement all ready to go but am going to wait until after taking the DAT to submit.

Would this still be considered early?

July is still so early. I also think your idea is good, to have your DAT score ready and shown at the time of application.

That is true but if taken on July 11 they probably won't receive DAT until late July.

No there's a "self-report" section on the AADSAS where you will input your scores from the unofficial report. The ADA will process your official score and send to the AADSAS, which you said is about two weeks. It's just a matter of whether there is any discrepancy between your self report versus the ADA report because then your application will be pulled aside and delayed.

The application takes a while to process and go through. You would be crippling yourself by not submitting now when you can.

I was in the same position as you, I was taking the DAT mid July. I submitted my app in early to mid June so that by the time I took my DAT, everything was set and the schools got my scores in a week or two

All my friends that applied to dental school (with average to mediocre stats...) took their DAT beginning of august and still got into their top choice schools. I get the impression July is still early, early august is average...and don't be later than that. I'm planning on taking the DAT early august/late july but submitting my app earlier to get verified.

Submit it now.

Isn't that for Canadian DAT scores only? That's how it was last year
Yeah, until last year, only the Canadian DAT allowed us to but this year, we can do the same with American DAT as well.
