I'm applying next semester and I would really love some suggestions to strengthen my application and solidify my school list! I'm a senior so I'm taking a gap year.

Random things
I have a rare medical condition that has made me gone in and out of hospitals and doctors offices as a patient up to 9th grade. I'm going to write about that in my personal statement. My dad's a family physician and so I have legacy at NYMC; I'm not sure if that matters in med applications.

Current School List - do I need to fill in gaps/take some out? I don't know what resources to use. I've just been doing my own research on each school's website.

Robert Wood Johnson
Cooper Medical
Rutgers NJ
Seton Hall
Temple
Thomas Jefferson
Drexel
Penn
Geisinger
New York MC (legacy)
Quinnipiac
Albany
Mt Sinai
Einstein
Hofstra
Rochester
Penn State
George Washington
Georgetown
Virginia Tech
Wake Forest

Osteopathic:
Rowan
PCOM
NYIT
Liberty
VCOM

Thanks for all your help!

Can you give us a year by year for the sGPAs?
I can't recommend LUCOM or Penn State.

If you're from NY, delete Geisinger, Va Tech and the NJ schools. Hofstra will be a donation. You need to cast a broader net in your school list.

sGPA:
freshman - 3.62
sophomore - 2.40 (C- in Orgo I, C+ in Orgo II, C in Animal Phys)
junior - 3.62
senior (just retaking orgo) - probably 3.67

I'm from NJ and I go to school in PA so I thought I would apply to all schools in those two states. Broader net as in location or stats? I was hoping to stay within 5 hours drive from NJ/PA but I guess that might not be possible...

Chances will be best with the NJ schools (including Seton Hall), the Philly Triplets, Netter and Geisinger. Forget all NY schools except NYMC and Albany. You definitely need Do schools on the list.

Also consider schools like:
EVMS
VCU
U VM
U Miami
Tufts
Wake
SLU
Loyola
Tulane
MCW
Creighton
Wayne State
Rush
