I pulled this from ACPE website,

"Full accreditation should be awarded to UACP once graduates from the first class pass their licensure examinations"

What happens if not enough students pass, is the schools accreditation revoked? or does the accrediting agency work with them to try to help them improve their pass rate?

How many times can you take the licesnsure exam?

I think that if the school has "candidate" status then all is good if YOU pass the exam. then you can go about your business and do what you want. But for the school to be fully accredited i think a certain number have to pass. I think candidate and fully accredied status means the same to you as long as you can pass the exam. Correct me if im wrong

UACP students will be very well prepare to take the licensure exam. Many more than enough students will pass. You should not have any concerns regarding this topic.

Lets just say I know what I am talking about.

Yup... and everyone posting on this forum is an absolute expert - how dare you question forum credentials!!! oh yeah - turns out people talk from their a$$. Feel free to be concerned. Research it, talk with actual students and faculty, and make up your own mind. Attending a university before it is accredited is a gamble - you are betting on whether or not the school will obtain its certification. If its a good bet, then I say yes. If it feels wrong, well then you know what to do.

As a good rule of thumb - you should apply to more places than one. After you get some acceptances, then you can choose which one fits you.

I have done research and from what i have found it does not appear to be that big of a gamble. I remember reading that only one school, HICP, was never fully accredited, and that was because they decided to not apply for pre Canidate status. I also read that as long as the schools work with ACPE they will eventually be fully accredited, though its not gauranteed. If you know more info aboveliquidice, please share.

Pharmacology, Ozzie Guillen said it best "your a ***."

HICP did not attempt to gain any level of accreditation until one year after opening its doors to students. HICP was in a class by itself when it came to operating. The school accepted something like 250 students into it's entering class. There was no way in the world ACPE would approve a school that operated like that. Again, HICP didn't even seek anything from ACPE until after it was open and finishing up it's first year with students.

I know of no school that has not gained accreditation if it has worked with ACPE from the get-go. UACP, the school you have been talking about, gained provisional approval from ACPE to start the school a year before it actually opened. Approximately 5 months prior to opening ACPE returned as normally scheduled, reviewed the program and then granted the school precandidate status. All of this info is available from ACPE.

But again I wouldn't worry about whether the students will be properly educated. This isn't a concern.

I'd like to bump this issue and perhaps more people could comment on this??? I've heard a lot of bad things about not accredited schools - mainly med schools... but it seems like a lot of people are still applying and entering precandidate programs, anyone with input will be appreciated =) thank you.
