I am going to start a masters program in september with the intention of making up for my low graduate gpa. i've been told for this particular program that you can get into this same university's school of osteopathic medicine without finishing the masters program. i assume this would have to be done by sending in applications BEFORE starting the masters program. wouldnt schools only see the fall grades? and would that be enough to matriculate into a DO school the following year if combined with a stellar MCAT?

Those are really school-specific questions, OP. Also I don't think med school admission is guaranteed to anyone, no matter how stellar the stats. You'll have to work hard and hope for the best while doing your best. That's all you can do. If you have questions about logistics, it's better to call the specific school and ask. Good luck!

If it's worth anything, I think I remember reading somewhere on here that yes, DO schools will see your fall grades and if you are accepted it is okay to drop the masters program.

Call your school of interest to make 100% sure.

Apply this summer.

On AACOMAS you'll list your master classes as "in-progress"

The schools you apply to will see that. As soon as your fall grades are finalized you'll update AACOMAS and the DO schools will see that. Crush the fall semester and profit. Good luck!

PCOM biomed program? Yes.

But you have to crush it.
