I am a rising sophomore at a top 30 institution. I am thinking about going foreign for medical school; for example: UK or Switzerland where MD's still get the high salary. Can I apply as of now based upon my high school gpa and sat scores or would I need to complete my undergraduate degree first?
I believe you can apply as a high school student to UK medical schools. There is a 5 or 6 year option.
Kings College London
UKCAT and 4 AP subjects including bio and chem required
Nottingham
"High School Diploma (GPA 3.0 minimum
plus SAT 1 (score of 1700-1900) or ACT (score of 26-28)
plus 3 SAT II Subject Specific Tests (minimum scores of 600)
or 3 AP exams (minimum score 4)
or a combination of SAT II and AP exams (to make a total of three)
We do not generally require any standardised tests, but students for Law will need to take the LNAT, and
Medical applicants are required to take the UKCAT test. We do not accept the BMAT.Students taking APs or SATIIs should refer to entry requirements for the USA."
Do a google search on additional schools and contact them directly for more information.
edit: In addition, if you are not a UK or EEA national, you will need a work permit to practise in the UK
